Chapter 5: An Infiltration Of Sorts
Zim and Dib stepped out of the Pokemon Center. Walking down the street were two women, in Team Plasma uniforms, strolling down the street.
"Hey, it's those creepy guys," whispered Dib. "What was that they were saying? Something about Pokemon rights?"
"Come on, let's follow them and see what they're up to."
Zim and Dib stalked down the road, hiding behind a small row of hedges as the two women passed.
"-New plan is very good, the boss was telling me the details earlier-"
Zim and Dib couldn't hear them anymore, as they were out of earshot and the row of hedges ended here.
"Looks like they're going in that building," said Dib.
Zim whipped out a pair of binoculars, focusing on the building they were going into.
"Looks like some kind of club, but it says 'Women Only' on the front door," informed Zim.
"Gee, if only one of us could change into seamless disguises at will to become a perfectly convincing girl," said Dib, with a meaningful look at Zim.
"Oh, no. I know what you're thinking, Dib. There is NO way I am going to-"
Five minutes later, Zim was in both a new disguise and a red cocktail dress.
"You owe me big time," he hissed before going into the club, his now long and silky black hair whipping back and forth.
"You look better in a dress than half the girls in our school!" called Dib after him, snickering.
. . .
After a convincing wink to the security guard at the entrance, Zim made his way in, but he had trouble hearing what they were saying over the music without getting to close to avoid suspicion.
Zim was startled by a voice behind him. "Hello, darling, can I have this dance?" He spun around. It was N.
"I-isn't this an all-female club?" asked Zim.
"Why, yes. It is. But I have a few...connections, and I was allowed in." Without asking, he put one hand around Zim's waist, clasping his other hand with Zim's.
Bright pink blush had appeared on Zim's face.
"No need to be shy, darling, this is all in good fun!" said N, smiling.
Zim wasn't blushing because he was shy. He was blushing because he was dancing the tango with a dude. While cross-dressing in heels and a cocktail dress, no less.
"Have you heard about Team Plasma?" asked N, spinning Zim out and then catching him again.
"Oh, yes, weren't they in the Town Square earlier?" he asked, pretending to be innocently naïve, in the hopes N knew something about it.
"Good bunch, they're working hard to free Pokemon and give them their own rights. Do you have any Pokemon of your own?"
"I'd love to see them sometime."
"So, tell me more about this Team Plasma!" said Zim.
"Well, this is just between you and me," said N, dipping Zim into a low kneel, "But we have a great new plan we're working with."
"Oh, you're affiliated with them?" asked Zim.
N smiled. "Somewhat. Their new plan involves...Zekrom."
Zekrom...Zekrom...where had Zim heard it before? It was probably somewhere in there with all that information he downloaded from the internet. "Zekrom is a Pokemon, right?" asked Zim.
"Not just any Pokemon. A Legendary Pokemon which controls darkness."
"Very...interesting," said Zim, who's blush had gotten much darker now that N had drawn him so close.
"I'm afraid that's all I can tell you, darling!" he said. "Oh, and I almost forgot to ask! What's your Xtransceiver number?"
Without thinking, Zim scribbled it down on a piece of paper, and handed it to him, hands shaking.
"Oh, look at the time!" said Zim, glancing up at the clock. "I really must be getting home, it's pretty late!"
"But it's only-"
"See you!" said Zim, dashing out of the club with a bit of difficulty, considering his high heels.
"So did you find anything out?" asked Dib.
Zim looked thoughtful for a moment. "Two things: One Team Plasma is using a Pokemon of darkness called Zekrom to reach their goals, and two That clubbing is not all it's cracked up to be."
